On Friday 16 December, the “opening” night of the market will be celebrated with a super talented live gypsy jazz band from Stellenbosch – Manouche (link to Manouche website : (http://www.facebook.com/manoucheSA). The evening kicks of at 5pm and stallholders will be ready to welcome friends and guests with their crafts, delicacies, and fresh produce. We’ve selected the very best in (as much as possible) local talent and passion – handmade chocolate by (link to von Geuseau chocs from Greyton, amazing charcuterie from Luddite in Botriver, Genevieve MCC, oysters, ‘Food from the Karoo’, french crepes, goat’s milk cheeses from neighbouring farm “Anysbos” (and much more, and of course a fantastic selection of stylish crafts from as far as trendy design capital Cape Town.

We repeat all the magic on Saturday 17 December, when the market starts at 12pm and finishes around 5pm. We will have a play area for the kids with a jumping castle (and supervision, of course), so bring the whole family – including dogs

We’re celebrating these things at our special evening market in December, where we will have more than 25 passionate stallholders that include traditional homemade ice cream, slow brewed beer, amazing French Champagne, oysters, bespoke clothing and jewelry, lovely vintage housewares and a lot more.

We encourage visitors to bring the whole family – we will have something for everyone, including a jumping castle with supervision for the kids. With the sound of french accordion wafting through the air, guests can browse around or relax on the lawn, or even play a game of petanque. A true celebration thus, of favourite things.

yay for beautiful things*

A fabulous weekend celebrating the advent of Spring and Rosѐ created by the Bot River winemakers targeted at the pink wine buying market.

Participating wine estates will celebrate Rosѐ by hosting an appropriately pink event with gastronomy, competitions, tastings, blendings, amusing activities and hilarious entertainment.

Participating wineries will be open on Saturday from 09:00 to 17:00 and on Sunday from 09:00 till 15:00 and will be landmarked by pink barrels at the entrance to each property.

Accommodation for the weekend will be provided by participating estates and guest farms – booking is essential. Guests have the option of taking a courtesy pink bus from venue to venue.

Entertainment varies from a polo match and fly fishing to pink paint ball games, with wine and olive oil tastings and blending, sumptuous meals, live music, pottery and art exhibitions. Guests are invited to carouse and cruise the night away on Saturday 4 September at a frothy pink party at the Bot River Hotel – tickets R50 !

Bot River is only 1.15h (one hour) from Cape Town so whether one is visiting for a day or spending the weekend on one of the participating estates the Botriviera Spring Weekend provides an opportunity to discover and explore this fascinating area, meet the merry winemakers and enjoy their splendidly pink wines.
